Game Of Thrones Actor Lands ‘The Transporter’ Reboot Lead

Last week we learned that EuropaCorp were moving forward with an origin reboot of the ass-kicking character Frank Martin a $30 million prequel to THE TRANSPORTER franchise. The action series, which made a superstar of Jason Statham and was turned into a well-recieved TV show starring Chris Vance, will take a look at the younger skilled military man and how he landed the job of delivering packages without asking questions.

 Well, we can now confirm former Game Of Thrones actor Ed Skrein, also known for roles on British thrillers ILL MANORS, PIGGY and THE SWEEENY,  will now take on the role of Martin. Skrein featured in the final three episodes of season 3 of the acclaimed HBO series as the Tyroshi warrior, Daario Naharis, the love-interest of Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen. However, his role was recast for season 4 with Michiel Huisman taking over.

 The new untitled story of THE TRANSPORTER will see how Martin found his home in the French Riviera as well as explore the mysterious relationship with his father. It’s set to be directed by BRICK MANSIONS’ Camille Delamarre with filming beginning in June.

 EuropaCorp CEO Christophe Lambert commented:
“We searched everywhere to find a fresh face who had the potential to become an action movie star and we’ve found the right match with Ed Skrein, who’s not only a great actor but also has enough charisma and physical stamina to play Frank Martin with brio.

Al-Jazeera demands Egypt release four journalists

  Qatar-based broadcaster Al-Jazeera has demanded the release of four of its journalists seized by Egyptian police in Cairo at the weekend. They include its Cairo bureau chief Mohamed Fadel Fahmy and former BBC correspondent Peter Greste. The journalists had held illegal meetings with the Muslim Brotherhood, the interior ministry said. Al-Jazeera said it had been "subject to harassment" although not officially banned from working in Egypt. There has been a crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood since the army ousted President Mohammed Morsi in July. Last week it was declared a terrorist group. In the past six months, more than 1,000 pro-Morsi protesters have been killed in clashes with security forces, and thousands of Brotherhood supporters have been arrested, including the majority of its leadership. Obama in Saudi Arabia for talks overshadowed by mistrust

US President Barack Obama sought Friday to allay Riyadh’s criticism of his policies on Syria and Iran, telling the Saudi king their two countries remain in lockstep on their strategic interests.
